Course Content

Mandatory Units

Explore fundamental aspects of education and training in these mandatory units. From understanding roles and responsibilities to facilitating group learning and mastering assessment methods, each module equips you with essential skills for effective teaching and support.

  • Module 1: Understanding Roles, Responsibilities, and Relationships in Education and Training: This module covers the foundational aspects of the teaching role, including responsibilities and legal requirements. It delves into the importance of promoting equality, valuing diversity, and identifying individual learner needs. Creating a safe and supportive learning environment is highlighted, as well as promoting appropriate behaviour and respect for others. The module also explores the relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training, including boundaries and points of referral for meeting individual learner needs.
  • Module 2: Facilitate Learning and Development in Groups: Here, the focus is on group learning and development. Understanding the principles and purposes of group learning is key, as is recognising the impact of group dynamics on learning delivery. Methods for facilitating learning to meet group needs are discussed, alongside managing risks and safeguarding individuals in group settings. Overcoming barriers to group learning, monitoring learner progress, and adapting delivery based on feedback are crucial skills covered in this module. The practical aspect involves implementing learning activities, assisting groups in applying new knowledge, providing feedback for improvement, and supporting learners in reflecting on their development.
  • Module 3: Understanding Assessment in Education and Training: This module dives into the various types and methods of assessment used in education and training. It explains the purposes and characteristics of assessments, comparing their strengths and limitations in meeting individual learner needs. Adapting assessment methods to learners’ needs and involving them in the process are highlighted. The role of peer- and self-assessment, along with providing constructive feedback, is discussed. The importance of keeping assessment records and summarising the requirements for record-keeping in organisations is also covered.

Enrolment and Delivery

Upon enrolment, you will be assigned a personal tutor who will assist you through achieving successful and meaningful completion of your award. All of the electronic resources, workbooks and assignments required for you to complete the course will be provided. Your tutor will work with you to set targets and milestones that are achievable for you and will check in with you regularly, providing assistance whenever necessary.

This qualification is trained face-to-face at our own premises, one day per week for four weeks, with work to be completed between sessions.

On successful completion of your award, your assessor will coordinate with the awarding body for the issuance of your certificates, which will be promptly delivered to you.

The full cost of this qualification is £450 per person which is duly invoiced at the point of enrolment.

Upon completion and certification of this qualification, the certificate(s) for you/your staff members will be sent to you.
