Certificate in Education and Training Level 4

Our Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF) is an accredited qualification which covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers/trainers in the further education and training skills sector. The qualification is intended for those who have completed the level 3 course and are qualified/experienced in the subject that you intent to teach. 

This level 4 course will prepare for progression, and you will be required to complete 30 hours of teaching practice in a real classroom by the end of this qualification. These hours can be facilitated for you, or you can use your own teaching sessions to generate the required evidence. 

This is a competency-based qualification that requires you to attend workshops and also be observed delivering training to groups in a classroom environment. You will learn about the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer, planning and delivering inclusive teaching and learning, facilitation of group learning, appropriate activities and resources to support each learning style and assessment and evaluation of learning.

This is the stand-alone qualification, so no functional skills, end point assessment of off the job requirements

The modules are a mix of theory and practical based, where the theory aspects are provided as a remote or face to face learning opportunity with assignments, workbooks and resources provided. The practical aspects will be gathered through practical activities and observations, and you will be supported by a specialist tutor.

Module 1 (Mandatory)

Planning to meet the needs of learners in education and training

  1. Analyse the role and use of initial and diagnostic assessment in agreeing individual learning goals
  2. Use methods of initial and diagnostic assessment to negotiate and agree individual learning goals with learners
  3. Record learners individual learning goals

Be able to plan inclusive teaching and learning in accordance with internal and external requirements

  1. Devise a scheme of work in accordance with internal and external requirements
  2. Design teaching and learning plans which meet the aims and individual needs of all learners and curriculum requirements

Be able to implement the minimum core in planning inclusive teaching and learning

All of the electronic resources, workbooks and assignments required for you to complete the course will be emailed to you for you to commence working with at a time of your convenience. Your tutor will work with you to set targets and milestones that are achievable for you and will check in with you regularly, providing assistance whenever necessary.

On successful completion of your award, your assessor will coordinate with the awarding body for the issuance of your certificate, which will be promptly delivered to you.
