Offering a blend of remote and in-person learning opportunities, complemented by hands-on tasks and observations, you’ll engage in workshops and supervised training sessions to explore key areas such as teacher responsibilities, inclusive teaching methods, group facilitation, resource management, and assessment strategies. Throughout the course, expert tutors provide guidance and support.
This standalone qualification eliminates the need for additional functional skills or end-point assessments. It covers essential topics including conducting initial assessments, establishing learning objectives, fostering equality, collaborating with other professionals, managing resources efficiently, and applying inclusive teaching techniques. Optional modules offer insights into specialised subjects such as educational objectives, program design, professional collaboration, and ongoing personal development.

Mandatory Units
- Module 1 – Planning and Meeting Learner Needs: This module covers analysing initial assessments, setting learning goals, planning inclusive teaching, implementing the minimum core, and evaluating teaching practice.
- Module 2 – Assessing Learners: This module focuses on utilising various assessment methods, meeting assessment requirements, applying the minimum core, and evaluating assessment practices.
- Module 3 – Roles, Responsibilities, and Relationships: This module covers understanding teaching roles, legislative aspects, maintaining a safe environment, promoting equality, and collaborating with other professionals are explored in this module.
- Module 4 – Using resources for education and training: This module includes how to use resources effectively and how to adapt them for individual needs and evaluating resource usage.
- Module 5 – Delivering Education and Training: This module emphasises using inclusive teaching approaches, effective communication, technology integration, and self-assessment.
Optional Units
- Module 6 – Teaching in a specialist area: This module explores educational aims, program structures, inclusive teaching principles, resource utilisation, professional collaboration, and continuous self-improvement.
Enrolment and Delivery

Upon enrolment, you will be assigned a personal tutor who will assist you through achieving successful and meaningful completion of your award. All of the electronic resources, workbooks and assignments required for you to complete the course will be provided. Your tutor will work with you to set targets and milestones that are achievable for you and will check in with you regularly, providing assistance whenever necessary.
Parts of this qualification are trained face-to-face at our own premises, one day per week for four weeks, with work to be completed between sessions.
On successful completion of your award, your assessor will coordinate with the awarding body for the issuance of your certificates, which will be promptly delivered to you.
