- Module 2 – Person-Centred Approach to Dementia Care: This module delves into the significance of person-centred care for individuals with dementia. It discusses the roles of carers and others in providing support, emphasising the importance of professional relationships and collaboration in ensuring holistic care.
- Module 3 – Understanding Behaviour in Dementia: This module identifies factors influencing behaviour and strategies for responding to diverse behaviours associated with dementia. It covers insight impairment, support for sleep difficulties, and emotional needs, including depression and anger management.
- Module 4 – Dementia Awareness: This module provides a comprehensive understanding of dementia, including its definitions, causes, and common types. It explores theoretical models of dementia, emphasises viewing dementia as a disability, and discusses the impact of attitudes and behaviours on individuals living with dementia.
- Module 5 – Medication Administration in Dementia Care: This module addresses common medications used in dementia care, their effects, and the importance of person-centred administration. It highlights advocating for individuals with dementia regarding medication and the significance of recording side effects.
- Module 6 – Benefits of Engaging in Activities: This module explores positive and negative aspects of engagement. It discusses social benefits, integrating activities into care, and fostering a team culture through activity-based care approaches.
- Module 7 – Factors Influencing Communication with Individuals with Dementia: This module examines factors influencing communication and interaction with individuals with dementia. It covers memory impairment, adapting communication styles, understanding biographies for positive interactions, and the role of others in facilitating communication.

On successful completion of your award, your assessor will coordinate with the awarding body for the issuance of your certificates, which will be promptly delivered to you.
