What is Mandatory Training for Care Workers?

Mandatory training for Care Workers is all of the training that care workers are required to undertake to learn the fundamental knowledge, skills and behaviours necessary to provide safe, effective and compassionate care. It is a UK Statutory Requirement (Regulation 18: Staffing) that care providers; support, train, supervise and appraise care workers, to enable them to carry out the duties they are required to perform, and to meet the requirements of Section 2 (Fundamental Standards) of The Health and Social Care Act 2008. Fundamental Standards are the standards below which your care must never fall, as assessed by The Care Quality Commission (CQC), the regulatory body for all regulated Health and Social Care services in England.
