Welcome to our listing of ALL of the Health and Social Care qualifications that we provide. These include knowledge-based only qualifications as well as qualifications where performance will also need to be demonstrated through being observed in your workplace in your everyday working practices. There are lots of different units available and you will be able to select ones relevant to your role as well as the ability to expand your knowledge and skills, including specialist areas.

A range of these qualifications can be funded by Skills for Care as part of the Workforce Development Fund (WDF) where available. The Workforce Development Fund (WDF) is funding from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). It supports the provision of high-quality care and the continuing professional development (CPD) of staff across the adult social care sector by providing a contribution towards the costs of vocational learning. The fund allows you to claim back money towards the costs of workers completing a broad range of adult social care qualifications, learning programmes and digital learning modules.

It’s important to note that organisations accessing funding must meet the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) requirements for WDF and further details on this can be accessed on the Skills for Care Website here.

Award in e-Responsibility Level 1

This qualification is for those who wish to develop knowledge and understanding of how to safely use the internet, computer gaming and mobile communication technology.

Award in Education and Training Level 3

The qualification covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers/trainers in the further education and training skills sector and is intended for those who wish to gain knowledge and understanding of this sector.

Award in emergency first aid Level 2

This qualification is designed to develop the first aid knowledge and skills of learners who are required to provide emergency first aid to employees injured or taken ill at work in line with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Award in First Aid at Work level 3

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare the Learner to develop the skills and knowledge needed to take on the role of first aider in the workplace.

Award in Personal Development and Employability Level 1

This qualification introduces the knowledge, understanding and skills needed personal development and for employment; it is designed for learners entering the workplace.

Award in Principles of COSHH Level 2

This qualification is aimed at learners entering the workplace where there is a requirement to deal with hazardous substances. This qualification covers risk assessments and the precautions and procedures required to ensure that chemical or hazardous substance risks are managed effectively.

Award in Work Skills Level 2

This qualification provides an introduction to the knowledge, understanding and skills needed for employment. It is for those who wish to develop basic skills and knowledge needed to manage their career.

Awareness of Conflict Management Level 2

This Level 2 qualification is provided for staff to develop the skills that are required to manage conflict in a range of situations.

Awareness of Dementia Level 2

This Level 2 qualification is for those who wish to develop the knowledge of the causes and symptoms of dementia and will enable staff to develop an awareness for providing positive care for people with dementia and their families.

Awareness of Dementia Level 3

This Level 3 qualification is for those who wish to develop knowledge and understanding of dementia care and how to support people with dementia and their families. This qualification is aligned to the National Dementia Strategy.

Awareness of End of Life Care Level 3

This qualification provides the opportunity to develop an understanding of different perspectives of death and dying, and the impact it has on individuals. It covers the aims and principles of end-of-life care, communication factors and how to access a range of support services in end-of-life care.

Certificate for IT Users Level 1 and Level 2

This qualification is for those who are experienced at working in the IT sector who wish to develop their skills and knowledge further in a range of IT skills

Certificate in Assisting and Moving Individuals for a Social Care Setting Level 2

The purpose of the qualification is to provide continuous professional development which contributes to employers’ responsibilities for the health and safety of their employees. It helps to meet legal requirements that employees are competent to perform their tasks.

Certificate in Dementia Care Level 2

This qualification is for those who work in a dementia care environment and aims to develop the knowledge and skills required when providing positive care for people with dementia and their families. This qualification is aligned to the National Dementia Strategy.

Certificate in Dementia Care Level 3

This level 3 certificate in Dementia Care is for those whose job role is working with people with dementia and aims to give workers the ability to develop their skills and demonstrate their competence in this area.

Certificate in Education and Training Level 4

The qualification is for those who work or want to work as teachers or trainers in the further education and skills sector and who wish to further their understanding of this role.

Certificate in Mental Health Awareness Level 2

This knowledge-only qualification is designed for staff who want to raise awareness of mental health and a range of mental health problems. This qualification is designed for anyone looking to develop their understanding of mental health and the problems that can cause mental ill health.

Certificate in Oral Care for Health and Social Care Level 2

This qualification aims to equip staff with the knowledge and understanding of oral hygiene for individuals in a care setting.

Certificate in Personal Development and Employability Level 1

This qualification provides an introduction to the knowledge, understanding and skills needed personal development and for employment; it is designed for people entering the workplace.

Certificate in Principles of Medication Administration Level 2

This knowledge-only qualification is designed for staff, in a variety of roles, who want to develop their understanding of medication administration and how to handle this safely. Staff will develop knowledge of the procedures for obtaining, storing, administering and disposing of medicines, medicine related legislation, audit processes and issues of responsibility and accountability.

Certificate in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities Level 2

The purpose of this qualification is to help staff in a variety of roles, interact with people with learning disabilities.

Certificate in Team Leading Level 2

This is aimed at staff to develop the skills that they require to manage conflict in a range of situations.

Certificate in the Awareness of Prevention of Falls Level 2

The purpose of this level 2 qualification is to develop staff knowledge and understanding of falls prevention, in the context of health and social care.

Certificate in Understanding Autism Level 2

This level 2 qualification is designed for staff who wish to develop an understanding of autism and how to support individuals with autism. This qualification aims to develop learners’ understanding of autism and the principles of supporting individuals with autism – covering the person-centred approach and influence of positive communication methods how to enable individuals to manage their own risks.

Certificate in Understanding Nutrition and Health Level 2

This level 2 qualification is for those who are relatively inexperienced in the subject and will develop their awareness of nutrition and health.

Certificate in Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes

This qualification is appropriate to a variety of job roles where an understanding of the care and management of diabetes is required. The qualification can be taken to support progression into further learning within the Health and Social Care sector.

Certificate in Working in End-Of-Life Care Level 3

This level 3 certificate is for those whose job role is in Working in End-of-Life Care, and will give staff the ability to develop their skills and knowledge and demonstrate their competence.

Diploma in Adult Care Level 3

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a lead adult care worker role in care settings. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures. This is suitable for all those who are working in a lead adult care worker role with adults in health and social care settings.

Diploma in Adult Care Level 4

This qualification will support staff to develop specialist knowledge and skills in their area of responsibility and enable learners to promote a values-based culture within their setting.

Diploma in Business Administration Level 2

This qualification will enable those who work in a business administration environment develop their knowledge, understanding and skills.

Diploma in Business Administration Level 3

This qualification is for those who are working in a senior role in business administration and who wish to develop their skills and knowledge to progress to business administration management.

Diploma in Business Administration Level 4

This qualification is for those who are working in a management role in business administration and who wish to develop their skills and knowledge of business administration management.

Diploma in Care Level 2

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a care worker role in care settings. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures. This is suitable for all those who are working in a care worker role with adults in health and social care settings.

Diploma in Customer Service Level 2

This qualification will enable those who work in a customer service environment develop their knowledge, understanding and skills.

Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care Level 5

This level 5 qualification provides staff with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage practice and lead others in adult care services. This qualification is most suitable for those working in a managerial role in adult care settings who are looking to progress their career. It is also appropriate for managers who have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at Level 5.

Diploma in Management and Leadership Level 5

This qualification is for those learners who wish to develop their existing knowledge of management and leadership to enable them to move into or further their career in a senior management role.

Diploma in Management Principles Level 3

This qualification aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills they need to operate as a successful manager. It will also allow learners to develop skills, such as communication, presentation skills and project management, in a range of areas relevant to managerial roles.

Diploma in Team Leading Level 2

This qualification will enable learners who work as team leaders to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills.

Strategic Management and Leadership Level 7

This qualification is designed for practising senior managers with a wide range of responsibilities, such as converting organisational strategy into effective performance, this qualification provides guidance on the different areas of strategic management.
